GNOME Terminal is a terminal emulator for the GNOME desktop environment. Terminal emulators allow accessing a UNIX shell while remaining on their graphical desktop. GNOME Terminal emulates the xterm terminal emulator and provides some of the same features.
Go Edit->Profile Preferences->Colors->uncheck Use colors from system theme.
